AAT Qualified Gail; brings over 15 years’ experience of working in accounts. She ensures our Organisations compliance, working towards complex funding criteria and quality assurance. Alongside her managing the company’s financial processes she supports you and your business to start up and grow. Gail understands how important it is to look after your finances to keep your business going. She can provide help and support with setting up systems and processes and as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and assist your transition to using accounting software. She offers support to review your accounts to see where you can make improvements to profits and cashflow with the goal to make sure you have more money coming in than going out!
Emma Ward is a highly qualified Business Support Key Worker, with years of experience delivering a on variety of contracts and funding streams. After gaining a degree in Linguistics and undertaking a teaching qualification and I.A.G. Level 4, Emma embarked in a career working in supportive roles helping people to understand what they are capable of. This role has evolved over time and I work with people holistically, looking at all aspects of their life to encourage change and help with life planning. I support people to not only achieve their dream of becoming an entrepreneur but also to improve areas of their mental and physical health in readiness to embark upon their new career paths.
Having vast work experience within a variety of fields from hotels, supermarkets and finance, Joanne came to Yorkshire in Business to start her own business. Following 2 years successfully trading as a sole trader Joanne made the decision that self-employment wasn’t right for her.
When looking for a new venture Joanne applied to Yorkshire in Business, remembering the friendly and at that time ‘Vital support’ made her feel motivated, confident and successful in her business venture and knew this is something she would also love to do. Here she is now!!! – known as ‘the client we couldn’t get rid of’. Joanne is experienced in supporting start-ups, hand holding through the transition of working for oneself alongside providing existing businesses practical advice and guidance.

Training to be a qualified accountant working towards Level 3 AAT Holly is our business tenants point of call for all account’s contracts. Working alongside our Finance Director Gail Wilks, Holly support Start-ups and existing businesses to set up and implement effective financial systems suitable for the size and activities of the business, she provides training and advice on utilising these systems to support the business owner to effectively analyse data. Holly also oversees the facilitation of our programme of events and communication channels.
Overseeing our Bridlington Business support offering, Dawn provides start up and existing business support services across the East Riding 4 days per week. Dawn runs her own business as an Independent Financial Adviser with Burlington Financial, a Bridlington business owner offering pension reviews, investments, mortgage and personal protection, giving Dawn first-hand experience of the needs and challenges of businesses locally. An experienced Networker, Financial & Business Planner Dawn works closely with our Scarborough team to bring a wealth experience to Bridlington based businesses.
Mentor to the CEO and Chair of Yorkshire in Business, Tony plays a large part in directing the support offered by the Not for profit, supporting its strategic development and growth. Giving his time as a Volunteer, together Tony and our Founder are setting the model for the Future of Business Support. Tony was honoured in 2001 with an OBE for his services to small firms abd is a recipient of two lifetime achievement awards for Enterprise. He was awarded Enterprise Champion of the year at the National Enterprise Network Conference and Awards and he is co-founder of the worldwide #MicroBizMatters movement, #Payin30Day campaigner #Happipreneurship speaker.
Ian Sheers is a renowned business coach with over 30 years professional experience including vast senior management on a national and international level. Ian has run his own businesses for almost 10 years working alongside Yorkshire in Business for the last 2 years, helping over 2500 people into work, through apprenticeship schemes and as a business mentor Ian has assisted over 200 individuals to set up and run businesses. Ian is contracted by us to support business to develop an Improvement plan and achieve business goals.
Rachel has been part of Yorkshire in Business for many years, first as a business tenant within our workspace community and now as our own marketing guru.
